"Christiaan - ex-colleague, now freelance hired, is a great man to work with; he is a real pro in animating. Best of all, he is a really nice guy! Engine-software hired him last month again for animating cartoony characters, it's wonderfull to see that he's got the guts to take the animation a step further and make them over the top cool :)"

ENGINE SOFTWARE B.V. (2007 – 2012)
Lead Animator/3D Modeler/Environment Artist
At Engine Software, I created original animations for humanoids, animal, creatures and developed various rigging systems suited for use on different projects. Also I worked very closely with the coding department for smooth implementations. Contributed by creating 3D characters and environments. Developed combat and gameplay systems. And created various enemy designs.
- Selected accomplishments and assignments:
- When the company was in desperate need of an animator, I volunteered to take this responsibility and took self studies at home, which saved the company time and resources
- I created a trailer (from story-boarding to final version) for our latest game using already shot material. I used this material in creative ways and created footage that suited the game more. This material is now used for marketing purposes.
The trailer can be found here: Flip the Core Trailer - Was responsible for creating reusable rigging systems. This led to less time spent on initial character setup at the start of projects and more time spent on actual animating.
- Played a key role in developing a new animation pipeline, resulting in a much smoother and higher quality animation work-flow and almost burden free for the coding department to get the animations up and running ingame.
- On extremely tight deadlines, I applied my Autodesk Maya knowledge to fix various characters and animations which we received in terrible state from hired studio's. This resulted in successful milestone deliveries on time.
- On earlier projects for the company, when creating animations, I followed (to my own insight) the PEGI guidelines closely. Because of this, no animations had to be redone, saving money.
- On our first Nintendo 3Ds projects, i created various animation and export tools, which saved me a lot of time in the course of these projects.
Hiroshi Wijmer

"Christiaan is a passionate and multi disciplinary graphic artist. Always eager to learn new things and breaking the conventional rules to create the best product possible. Giving feedback and criticism is appreciated by Chris as he is reflecting on his work.
Besides being a graphic artist he also has a good sense of concept design which make him a good partner to work with. And perhaps most importantly he is an easy going friendly guy with a good sense of humor".
